CNN —This week sees the opening of the Venice Biennale, an 8-month-long festival of art and culture staged every other year. For 2024 — the show’s 60th iteration — Brazilian curator Adriano Pedrosa has chosen the topic of “Foreigners Everywhere,” and announced an intention to spotlight artists from diverse and historically marginalized backgrounds. Set up in 2005, San Quentin’s running club meets regularly and is run entirely by volunteer coaches from Marin County’s Tamalpa Running Club, who come from outside the facility to share their expertize and time with aspiring runners in the prison. For the most part, it’s poverty mixed with a lack of opportunity,” Thomas tells CNN Sport. “It hurt me inside because he was more like a mentor to me,” Taylor tells CNN Sport. ☆ Playing with dogs may help you relax and focus, study finds

CNN —If you decompress by playing with dogs or checking their adorable videos on social media, you might be onto something. Playing with your dog may not just be good for your pet — it could also benefit your emotional health, according to a new study. The authors measured participants’ brain waves, using electroencephalogram tests, or EEGs, for three minutes during each activity. Different activities had varying effects on participants’ brain waves. Grooming, playing and gently massaging the dog was linked with strengthened beta-band oscillation, which is associated with heightened attention and concentration.

CNN —Amazon Prime’s new drama series “Expats,” starring Nicole Kidman, is currently unavailable to watch in Hong Kong despite being set and partly filmed in the city. That year, Hong Kong also granted Oscar-winner Kidman an exemption from its tough Covid-19 quarantine rules to film in the city. Four members of her crew were also granted relief from the restrictions, Hong Kong officials said at the time. CNN has also reached out to the Hong Kong Commerce and Economic Development Bureau for comment. “It was very important to me to be able to show this particular moment in this year in Hong Kong very accurately,” she said.
